NEPALGUNJ, May 30: Flight Commander Kailash Gurung of Nepal Army died in a cargo aircraft accident on Monday. The aircraft crashed near the Bajura-based Kolti airport while trying to land.
The injured are Co-pilot Alita Ale Magar and a crew member, Subedar Purna Khadka.
The accident occurred at 12.06 pm while Colonel Gurung was trying to land the ill-fated NA aircraft with Call Sign NA48 at the Kolti airport.

"Captain Gurung died in the crash while other crew members have been taken to a hospital in Nepalgunj for treatment," DSP Dal Bahadur Bogati, Bajura District Police chief, told Republica. "His body has also been sent to the hospital."
The cargo airplane was supposed to land at the Simikot airport in Humla district. However, bad weather condition forced the pilot to fly toward Bajura as the last resort to avoid a possible crash.
The airplane caught fire after the crash, Pratab Babu Tiwari, head of the Nepalgunj-based office of the Civial Aviation Authority of Nepal, told Republica.
This is the second plane crash in the lst one week. A Summit Air (Goma air) cargo plane crashed near Lukla airport while trying to land on Saturday. Captain Paras Rai and Co-pilot Srijan Manandhar died in course of treatment. Air hostess Pragya Maharjan was seriously injured in the crash.
