KATHMANDU, Aug 3: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Thursday increased marginally by three points to close at 2,089.84 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,086.84 points and surged to 2,103.03 points in the first 13 minutes. The index however fell to as low as 2,089.08 points in the next few minutes. For the next three hours, the market remained almost stable.
But the market plunged to the day’s low at 2,085.09 in the last five minutes, while the market gained an additional four points in the last moment before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies added 1.25 points. The daily turnover further dropped to Rs 1.781 billion from Rs 1.812 billion on Wednesday.
Five groups including non-life insurance, hotels and tourism, finance, hydropower and development banks shed their market values. Of the eight gainers, life insurance secured the highest of 63.47 points in its market price.
Among individual companies, the market values of 76 companies increased. A total of 130 companies were recorded as losers.
Shivam Cements Ltd had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 92.36 million. While Support Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Ltd was the topmost gainer, Progressive Finance Limited lost the highest of 5.19 percent in its market price.
