KATHMANDU,June 23: Minister for Information and Communications Sherdhan Rai said that the government would introduce a new package soon for the development of information and technology (IT) sector.
Health sector largest single recipient of foreign assistance
Addressing the ICT Startup Award 2016 ceremony in Kathmandu, Rai said that the government was coming up with a program for the development of IT infrastructures and extend Internet service throughout the country.
“The focus of new government programs for IT sector will be on bringing new technologies,” said Rai. Stating that Nepal is slowly stepping forward in IT development, Rai said that the government will honor talents working in the sector. At the program, Minister Rai awarded Sasto Deal Pvt Ltd, Kul Techno Lab Pvt Ltd, Yellow Nepal Pvt Ltd and Smart Samaj Pvt Ltd with ICT Startup Award. Similarly, ICT Special Award was given to Computer Scientist Muni Bahadur Shakya.
