KATHMANDU, Mar 29: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has stated that the government should have maintained diplomatic relations with neighbors for the prosperity of the nation.
Addressing the joint assembly of federal parliament on Thursday Prez Bhandari said that the government should be the Check and balance relation while dealing on the bilateral issues.
While addressing, Prez Bhandari stressed that democracy is not worth if the citizen cannot upgrade the living standard. She said, "The public should have an equal approach to the development, Optimum use of the natural sources will help in creating employment in the country and will stop youth from going abroad seeking job.."

Prez Bhandari further added, "The mandate from the public from recent elections has given the way out for the prosperity of the country."
President Bhandari has addressed a joint assembly of the Federal Parliament for the first time after she was re-elected as President on Thursday, in line with Article 95 (1) and (2) of the Constitution, Federal Parliament Secretariat told Republica online. Soon after the meeting began, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli handed over a copy of the address to President Bhandari.
President Bhandari addressed the joint assembly of Federal Parliament on March 5 before she was re-elected on March 13.
The joint meeting was held at the hall of House of Representatives. HoR Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara chaired the joint assembly.
