BIRATNAGAR, Jan 14: Deputy Speaker of Province 1 Srijana Danuwar has taken the oath of office and secrecy.
Province 1 Speaker Baburam Gautam administered the oath of office and secrecy to Deputy Speaker Danuwa amid a function at the office of the Provincial Head of Province 1 on Saturday.

Danuwar was elected to the post of deputy speaker by majority votes in the provincial assembly meeting on Saturday. A total of 57 votes were cast in favor of Danuwar during the election process. Ninety members of the provincial assembly had cast their votes.
Narayan Burja Magar, provincial assembly member of the Maoist Center, was the proponent of Danuwar and Sabija Bajgain of RPP was the supporter.
Danuwar’s nearest competitio Leela Kumari Rai of Nepali Congress bagged 33 votes. There are 93 members in the provincial assembly including 40 from UML, 29 from NC, 13 from CPN-Maoist Center, 6 from RPP, four from CPN (Unifed Socialists) and one from JSP.
