Second edition of Teej Mahotsav begins

BAGLUNG, August 19: The second edition of Teej Mahotsav has began on Thursday. Mahila Udhami Bikash Samiti that is under Baglung Udhyog Banijya Sangh has organized the three- day Mahotsav. One could taste local food items in the festival along with that one can  buy the local handicraft displayed in the festival.

BAGLUNG, August 19: The second edition of Teej Mahotsav has began on Thursday. Mahila Udhami Bikash Samiti that is under Baglung Udhyog Banijya Sangh has organized the three- day Mahotsav. One could taste local food items in the festival along with that one can  buy the local handicraft displayed in the festival.


There are 30 commercial stalls where local food and local handicraft items are given more priority during the festival as per event coordinator Archana Palikhey.  She added, “We are promoting the local products so that local people could get benefit and they could be independent working in their locale.”

According to the President of Mahila Bikash Samiti, Bhagawati KC the festival aims at conservation and promotion of authentic art and culture of Baglung. She added, “The festival is all about conservation of authentic art and culture of Baglung along with generating income through the same.


This kind of festivals not only helps in the conservation of authentic dresses or things but it also helps in developing proper market for the local products.”


The event was inaugurated by Former Health Minister Gagan Thapa. Around 60 thousand visitors are expected where they can get entertained through various musical live performances and entertaining competition.
