Kodari, Tatopani resident Hari Karki has witnessed the changes in Basantapur since 1950. The vicinity has provided him with a host of memories – some sorrowful and some to cherish for a lifetime. Though he isn’t happy about his initial business failure and poor academics, meeting his wife, Bina Gurung, in Basantapur is among his fondest memories. He shared, “I met my wife here. My two daughters grew up frolicking in the ancient palace square. I have witnessed the ups and downs of Basantapur. This place is an integral part of my life.”
