PHALEBASH, Sept 18: The Pokhara – Baglung route has been obstructed following a torrential rain-triggered landslide and an engorged river.
The transportation remained on halt after a flooding in the local Chuwa river at Kushma Municipality – 11 of Parbat. The floodwaters deposited boulders and silt on the road while a landslide struck nearby, District Police Office (DPO), Parbat said.
The local administration started clearing the debris at 3:30 am to resume the road, District Traffic Chief, Mahendra Ranabhat said. He added that a dozer was called from Road Division Office, Baglung and the road would resume by 9 am.
The short and long route vehicles leaving from Baglung, Myagdi, Mustang and Parbat's Kushma area have been stranded while the night buses heading towards Dhaulagiri have now stopped at Dimuwa.
The river deposited the landslide debris on the road during the flooding, according to police. RSS
