KATHMANDU, March 23: CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli has directed party cadres and leaders to move forward with election preparations with a goal to secure a majority in the upcoming local level election.
Addressing the party's central committee meeting in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Chairman Oli said that the UML needs to secure a majority victory in the upcoming election to protect democracy as the UML was the biggest and oldest force during the people’s movement.
Key Message from Indian elections
He argued that the local elections should be won by a majority vote in order to fulfill the responsibility of establishing lasting peace in a country that is suffering from conflict and violence and for a ‘prosperous Nepal and happy Nepalis’ by combating corruption.
He also stressed the need to strengthen the party through local elections by getting a majority and claimed that there is way too much misleading, pro-government, and anti-people propaganda.
The Central Committee meeting of UML will discuss making decisions regarding organizational and propaganda programs and mass mobilization for the successful completion of local-level elections.
Likewise, Chairman Oli said that he would inform the Central Committee members about the party's app created for the election in tomorrow's meeting. He also shared that the number of CPN-UML members has reached 1.1 million.
