HUMLA, Nov 13: A total of 10 best performing farmers from Humla district have been honoured with 'Rastrapati Utkrishta Kisan Puraskar' for their best performance in agriculture. The award carries a purse of Rs 10,000 in cash each and a letter of certificate.
The felicitation program was held amid a program held in the district on the occasion of 36th World Food Day.

Meanwhile, sharing his agricultural experiences at the event, an award winner Chhiring Tenjan Lama said he had been producing 1,500 to 2,500 types of seeds of crops every year.
The District Agriculture Development Office (DADO) had been purchasing the seed which Chhiring had been producing, in a shift wherein the DADO in the past had been distributing seed of various crops after purchasing them from India.
Likewise on the occasion, Chief District Officer Krishna Bahadur Ghimire lauded performance of the award winning farmers and urged farmers to continue to engage in agriculture. RSS
