16 metric tons of waste taken out from Valley Rivers

KATHMANDU, Dec 31: At least 16 metric tons of waste has been taken out from the major rivers including Bagmati in the Kathmandu valley today. The Bagmati cleanup campaign today reached 190th week. The wastes were taken out from the Tilganga area.

KATHMANDU, Dec 31: At least 16 metric tons of wastes have been taken out from the major rivers including Bagmati in the Kathmandu valley today. The Bagmati cleanup campaign today reached 190th week. The wastes were taken out from the Tilganga area.


The campaign was attended by a large number of volunteers from various organizations including High-Powered Bagmati Civilisation Integrated Development Committee, Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force among other social organizations.

Former secretary Kishor Thapa, Nepal Police AIG Bigyan Raj Sharma among others also participated in today's campaign.


Similarly, such campaign was organized at Rudramati River nearby Ratopul and Siphal and another campaign was also organized at Bishnumati River nearby Tarekeswar Municipality-16.


The Bagmati cleanup campaign began on May 18, 2013. RSS
