17 SSPs recommended for promotion to DIG

KATHMANDU, June 23: A committee has recommended the government to promote 17 Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to the post of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police.

KATHMANDU, June 23: A committee has recommended the government to promote 17 Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to the post of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police.


A meeting of the Police Promotion Committee held on Wednesday recommended 17 SSPs to be promoted to the post of DIG as per the Police Act, 2071 (with amendments), said Additional Inspector General (AIG) Puja Singh, member-secretary of the promotion committee.

Among those recommended for promotion are Basanta Bahadur Kunwar at number one, Tek Prasad Rai at number two, Ashok Singh at number three, Deepak Thapa at number four and Shyamlal Gyawali at number five.


Similarly, Kiran Bajracharya, Sandip Bhandari, Sudip Giri, Mira Chaudhary, Tek Bahadur Tamang, Umesh Raj Joshi, Bhim Prasad Dhakal, Ram Dutta Joshi, Poshraj Pokharel, Buddhiraj Gurung, Durga Singh and Kiran Rana have also been recommended for promotion to DIG.
