KATHMANDU, Jan 21: On Friday, 12 people, including three from Gorkha, returned back to Nepal from Malaysia after being held hostage 20 days in one of the main labour destination countries. The Nepali hostages were freed at the initiative of the Government of Nepal.
According to Uttam Kumar Shrestha of Ward No 8 of Gorkha Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality, they arrived in Nepal at around 1 o'clock in the afternoon.

"12 people who arrived here today and seven people who came before are staying in a hotel at New Bus Park," he said, adding that all of them will talk to the director of the Department of Foreign Employment on Monday and ask the manager of the manpower company for a full refund.
Bishnu Prasad Dhakal, Sujan Gotame, Tikaram Gotame from Gorkha have returned to Nepal from Malyasia. Similarly, Pradip Koirala and Bhesh Bahadur Subedi of Makwanpur, Indra Bahadur Chhetri of Udayapur, Sunil Adhikari of Saptari, Hazari Prasad Patel of Rautahat, Birbal Rai Yadav, Hira Lal Raut, Santosh Pariyar of Chitwan and Suraj Khadka of Dhading have returned back. They returned by paying the air fare themselves.
They went to work at Hongties Chicken Suppliers in Malaysia from Khoji Requirement Manpower in Sanepa, Kathmandu on September 8, . They were held hostage on the third floor of a house in the city of Keylang on January 11.
During the work, the owner of the company beat them and subjected them to extreme physical torture. After the youth sent photos and videos to Nepal about the company firing them and holding them hostage in a house, the government of Nepal started an initiative to rescue them.
Earlier, seven people who were held hostage in Malaysia, returned to Nepal. Gorkha's Kamal Babu Shrestha, Thakur Regmi, Makwanpur's Ishwar Koirala, Bhuwan Koirala, Bhojpur's Baburam Bastola, Kailali's Kailash Lohar and Dhading's Babulal BK had returned earlier.
