2 including journalist held with IED

RAUTAHAT, June 8: Police have arrested two individuals with improvised explosive devices (IED) in Chandrapur Municipality on Thursday.


Acting on a tip-off, Rautahat police arrested Dilip Thapa and Tara Thapa of Dharmapur, Jhapa with 30 pieces of gelatin, 22 pieces of detonators and a four-feet-long piece of fuse from Sudarshan Hotel, SP Yagya Binod Pokharel told Republica Online.


Police have also impounded a Yamaha motorbike with the registration No. Ga 3 3911.

Police have also recovered a press pass issued on Dilip’s name on October 2, 2016 for Rato Khabar Saptahik.


Police have suspected them to have been associated with Communist Party of Nepal led by Netra Bikram Chand.


Police are investigating the case.
