23-point proposal to amend Education Regulation

DHANKUTA, Nov 26: The eastern regional conference of National Private and Boarding Schools Association Nepal (NPABSON) concluded on Friday, endorsing 23-point proposal for the amendment to the Education Regulation. 


The conference has demanded scrapping the provision of at least 10 per cent students be residential for the opening of residential school and replacing it with the provision to fulfill the number of students in a certain period of time for the same.

Another striking point in the amendment proposal is removal of provision that the private schools should provide the designated salary and benefits to teachers at par with the government's level for establishment of school. However, the government-stated salary and benefits can be considered a base for determining the salary of teachers in the private schools, the proposal stated. 


Among other points are granting approval to the institutional schools for running similar educational programme, classification of schools and the task of determination of perks and benefits of teacher and employees to be included in the to-do-list of of the fee monitoring committee. 


On the occasion, journalist Sanjaya Santoshi Rai, Ushu player Tanuja Darjee, educationist Dharma Raj Rai and Dilip Adhikari were honoured, informed Programme's Deputy Coordinator Rajan Poudel. RSS
