24 women rescued from eastern checkpoint

BHADRAPUR, Jan 2 (RSS): Maiti Nepal Kakadbhitta has rescued 24 women from different places of India in the past one year.


The branch office of the organization based in Kakadbhitta rescued women being trafficked to India on temptation in the past one year. Maiti Nepal’s eastern regional coordinator Govinda Ghimire shared that the organization also prevented 259 women from becoming prey to trafficking during the period.

Likewise, the organization also had returned 91 women to Nepal from border after interrogation.

Ghimire further informed that the organization also sensitized 16,113 drivers including that of bus, rickshaw and tempo on human trafficking.


As many as 1,869 adolescent girls who were moving to India for employment and study were sensitized on safe migration. RSS
