RAMPUR (Palpa), Nov 21: The upgradation and expansion of the motorway linking Tanahun's Bhima locality to Palpa's Rampur Municipality through Ghiring Deurali section is continuing with support of a foreign donor.

The 25 km road stretch – eight meter in width – is being broadened and repaired with support of the World Bank (WB) and under Nepal Government's development project at an investment touching on Rs 107.6 million, contractor Tej Prasad Baral confided.

The Santoshi Construction Service has taken over the contract of expanding the road network and agreed to complete the task in the next 15 months.

After the expansion of the motorway, plans are afoot for increasing the number of vehicles traveling to Bhimad, Khaireni, Pokhara, Kathmandu and Narayangadh from Rampur, Rampur Transport Committee Chairman, Rajan Pokharel said.

The people living in Palpa, Tanahun, Syangja and Nawalparasi will be facilitated with long and short route travel after the under construction road starts operation. RSS
