250 to 350 garbage trucks will reach Banchare Danda daily from today if no obstacles: Mayor Balen Shah

KATHMANDU, August 14: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) has said that 250 to 350 garbage trucks will reach Banchare Danda every day.

KATHMANDU, August 14: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) has said that 250 to 350 garbage trucks will reach Banchare Danda every day.


Taking to social media on Sunday, Mayor Shah said that on Saturday evening, 152 vehicles carrying garbage reached Banchare Danda and if there are no obstacles, 250 to 350 garbage trucks will reach Banchare Danda daily from today.

He has also promised not to repeat the plight of Sisdol in Banchare Danda. He wrote, “We also want to assure you that we will not repeat Sisdol's tragedy under any circumstances. We are forced to adopt the current management method only because it is practically difficult to go to other options without managing the accumulated wastes.”


Garbage in Kathmandu was not picked up for a few days after an unknown group vandalized a garbage truck and a dozer in Banchare Danda.
