The locals had enforced an indefinite transport strike in the district from January 7 and blocked the main highway in the district, expressing dissatisfaction over the LBRC report which reportedly has recommended delineating the Lamidanda Village Body instead of the Mahuregadhi Village Body that was agreed upon by all sides in the district.

The transport strike was called off after an all-sides and all-party meeting held at the District Administration Office reached an agreement with the disgruntled side to 'keep intact the Mahuregadhi Village Body' as agreed before. RSS
