26 people dead after bus catches fire in southwest India

NEW DELHI, July 1: At least 26 people died and a few others were injured after a passenger bus caught fire in India's southwestern state of Maharashtra on Saturday, confirmed a local cop over phone.

NEW DELHI, July 1: At least 26 people died and a few others were injured after a passenger bus caught fire in India's southwestern state of Maharashtra on Saturday, confirmed a local cop over phone.


The cause of the accident is not known yet.

The mishap took place on the Samruddhi Mahamarg Expressway near Nagpur city.


The bus had 33 passengers onboard and was travelling from Yavatmal to Pune when the mishap occurred.
