28-year old Lama elected as chairman of Gorkha’s Chumanubri Rural Municipality-6

GORKHA, April 26: Saroj Lama, 28, has been unanimously elected as the chairperson of Chumnubri Rural Municipality-6 of Gorkha. As Lama was the only candidate to register his candidacy for the post in the upcoming local polls, he was unanimously elected to the post.

GORKHA, April 26: Saroj Lama, 28, has been unanimously elected as the chairperson of Chumnubri Rural Municipality-6 of Gorkha. As Lama was the only candidate to register his candidacy for the post in the upcoming local polls, he was unanimously elected to the post. However, the Election Office will make the official announcement of his election to the post after May 13.


Similarly, the whole ward committee has been elected unanimously as well, ward chairperson candidate Lama said. “Two members are from Nepali Congress while me, including another member, are from the CPN (Maoist Center),” he said.

Lama plans to work in the fields of education, health and employment after getting elected as the chairman unopposed. He said that he would focus on sustainable development and work that would directly benefit the people.
