KATHMANDU, Sept 14: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested three who were on the run for 13 years. The three have been accused of involvement in the murder of Roshan Kumar Ale Magar of Kumarigal, Baudhha in 2004.
The arrested have been identified as Shree Bir Lama, 31, Dev Raj Lama aka Sonu, 31, and Rakesh Lama aka Kheppa, 40, of Bauddha. The three had allegedly attacked Magar with sharp weapons while celebrating Holi on March 6, 2004. The victim had succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment in hospital.
2 youths arrested on murder charge
According to the CIB investigation, the youths had a scuffle during Dashain that year which had left Shree Bir Lama with some head injury. In return Lama masterminded a revenge plot as part of which the victim was attacked sharp weapons. Along with the deceased, five other were also injured in the attack but had recovered later.
The three had been on the run since the murder. CIB was able to arrest the three on the basis of tip off from an unidentified source. District Court Kathmandu on Monday remanded the three to police custody for further investigation.
