3 of ‘criminal gang’ injured in police firing

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: Three people were injured after police exchanged fire with a criminal gang in Itahari Municipality of Sunsari district on Monday afternoon.


According to police, three people of the gang were injured when police opened fire at them at the Sunsari-Morang irrigation project.

The injured have been identified as Satan Paswan, 27, of Nocha VDC-3 of Morang district, Shrawan Sardar, 29 of Tankisinuwari and Shubhalal Sardar, 42 of Itarahari-13, DSP Nareshraj Subedi of Area Police Office, Itahari told Republica.


Police have recovered three guns along with various types of narcotic drugs from the incident site. The injured are undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan.
