ISLAMABAD, June 11: Three security personnel and three terrorists were killed in a clash between security forces and terrorists in North Waziristan district of Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, a military statement said on Sunday.
An exchange of fire took place late Friday night in Miran Shah area of the district, the military's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

"Own troops effectively engaged the terrorists' location" and resultantly three terrorists were killed while four others injured, said the ISPR, adding that three soldiers had also lost their lives during the intense exchange of fire.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed terrorists, the statement said.
Sanitization of the area has been carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area, it added.
