KATHMANDU, Sept 18: In the third phase of local polls underway in 136 local units of eight districts in Province 2, 35 percent of votes have been cast as of 12 pm.
According to the latest updates provided by the Joint Election Operation Center (JEOC) at the Election Commission of Nepal, a huge number of voters are enthusiastically lining up to exercise their votes in a peaceful manner.

The Election Commission (EC) is conducting the final round of the local elections in 136 local units. Monday's elections will elect 6,627 local representatives for which a total of 37,236 contestants are vying for the posts of chiefs and members of the local units and ward committees.
EC officials said there are a total of 2,664,950 registered voters in Province 2. Of the total seats allocated for local units, eight candidates have already been elected unanimously.
