3rd China-U.S.-Canada Buddhist Forum opens in east China

HANGZHOU, Nov. 16: The third China-U.S.-Canada Buddhist Forum opened Wednesday in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province, with a gathering of nearly 300 representatives and guests.

HANGZHOU, Nov. 16: The third China-U.S.-Canada Buddhist Forum opened Wednesday in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province, with a gathering of nearly 300 representatives and guests.


Themed "Tranquil Mind, Auspicious Coexistence," the forum aims to connect the Buddhist communities of China, the United States and Canada, along with peace-loving individuals, to promote international Buddhism exchanges and cooperation among the three countries, foster China-U.S. and China-Canada friendship, promote peace, facilitate the exchange and mutual learning between Eastern and Western civilizations, and contribute to building a community with a shared future for humankind, noted Master Yanjue, head of the Buddhist Association of China.

This is the first time China is hosting the forum. It has successfully been held in Toronto in 2017 and New York in 2019, and has become a new platform to promote friendly exchanges among the Buddhist communities across the Pacific Ocean.


 The forum will run until Nov. 17.
