KASKI, June 23: An earthquake measuring 4.9 Richther scale rattled Pokhara and surrounding areas in the wee hours today, according to the National Seismological Center.
The quake took place at 3:56 am with its epicenter at Dhampus of Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality-7 in Kaski district.

Shockwaves from the quake were felt across Baglung, Parbat, Myagdi and Tanahun districts, according to local residents. However, no details of losses caused by the quake have been reported so far.
