The UK government conducted face-to-face interviews as part of the selection process. The agreement, formalized in Bhadra 2079 BS, outlined the collaboration between Nepal and Britain for employment purposes. In the initial phase, the UK government sought 100 nurses, leading to the solicitation of applications within the health sector.

Responding to the government's call, 82 nurses submitted documents, adhering to the specified criteria. Notably, 71 Nepali nurses who met the criteria were chosen for the interview stage. According to data from the Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE), all 71 applicants underwent interviews.

Following the interviews held from December 4 to December 7, 45 nurses emerged successful in interviews. The Department reports that a total of 60 people participated in the interviews, which took place at the British Embassy in Nepal. The interviews were conducted by representatives from Hampshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in the UK.

As outlined in the official notice, the selected nurses are anticipated to commence their assignments in the UK from the first quarter of 2024. Per the agreement, these nurses will be entitled to a minimum monthly salary of 2,367 pounds.

Upon calculation, this translates to an annual income of 28,404 pounds (equivalent to more than Rs 4.57 million) for Nepali nurses working in the UK. Notably, these nurses are expected to bear zero travel costs and will be eligible to work in the UK for a period of five years.
