Known for his contribution as a journalist, documentarian and assistant film-maker, Bhisan Rai is preparing for the bigger leagues with his directorial debut ‘Purano Bullet’. Along with garnering experiences from feature films like 'Blind Rocks', and 'Johnny Gentleman', he has also appeared amid the Nepali mass as the publisher of a photonovel, 'Wifi Love'.
In conversation with My City’s Sonam Lama, Rai revealed the lesser-known facts about him.
Keen musician
Apart from filmmaking, he is also passionate about music. He took up music from his early teens and is a fine guitar and drum player.
Rehabilitated dacoit community returning to crime
“I have been playing these instruments for quite a long time now, and I can say that music is a real entertainer. Although I'm not a professional musician, I often play to entertain my listeners and have fun at the same time,” Rai said.
Inspired by history
Rai fancies creating movies with historical references. His raw ideas mostly concern the intense subject matters relative to ancient human civilization and anthropology.
Social media fanatic
Bhisan Rai spends a lot of time surfing the internet and using social media. He claims he is stuck on the internet to delve further into the issues that pique his curiosity. Apart from using them as a mode of expression and communication, he uses it as the medium to conduct researches and broaden his horizon.
Obsessed with his long tresses
His shoulder-length locks add a unique attribute to his appearance. He tries, in every way possible, to maintain his hairstyle.
“I am cautious about using beauty products. I simply shampoo it and let it loose,” he added.
Loves non-vegetarian
Since he is fond of cooking, most of the food items that he prepares are non-vegetarian. For him, cooking is also a way of breaking the monotony of eating the same food.
“I enjoy preparing fish and red-meat items when I am out on a tour with friends or while spending alone time,” confirmed Rai.
