736 temporary police personnel recruited in Taplejung

Taplejung, Oct 11: As many as 736 temporary police personnel have been selected from Taplejung for the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and provincial assemblies.

Taplejung, Oct 12: As many as 736 temporary police personnel have been selected from Taplejung for the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and provincial assemblies.


According to District Police Office Spokesperson and Information Officer Police Inspector Kushram Karki, 552 men and 184 women were selected as temporary police personnel popularly known as Myadi police. In the last local level election, 655 temporary police personnel were selected from Taplejung.

There are two more polling stations than those during the last local level elections. The service period of Myadi Police will be 40 days. According to which, each will get a total salary of Rs 34,760 for up to 40 days at the rate of Rs 869 per day.


Similarly, a sum of Rs 7,200 will be given per person for food, while the Myadi police stationed in the Himalayan district will receive the amount according to the minimum ration rate of the district. Rs 6,000 per person will be available as a sum for the purchase of specified clothes and other goods. An addition, Rs 1,000 per person will be available for the purchase of dark blue cloth jackets for the Myadi police stationed in the Himalayan district.


During the elections, the preparation expenses will be available at the rate of Rs 1,000 per person, while the lunch expenses for 4 days will be available at the rate of Rs 300 per day. The police headquarters had fixed the deadline for applying for temporary police recruitment from September 15 to September 22. About 1,000 people had applied for Myadi Police from the district.
