76,967 Nepali nationals have returned home so far

KATHMANDU, Sept 26: A total of 76,967 Nepali people stranded in different countries due to the COVID-19 pandemic have returned home so far.

KATHMANDU, Sept 26: A total of 76,967 Nepali people stranded in different countries due to the COVID-19 pandemic have returned home so far.


According to the COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC), 76,967 Nepali nationals left stranded in 32 different countries have returned home.

Of the total number, the highest (22,214) have returned from the United Arab Emirates (UAE)  and lowest (five) from Sri Lanka.


Likewise, 10,306 have returned from Qatar, 8,335 from Kuwait, 11,352 from Malaysia, 11,819 from Saudi Arabia, 1,447 from South Korea, 1,274 from Bahrain, 1,150 from Oman, 1,091 from Australia and 936 from Turkey.


Of them, 14,546 returnees are from Province 1, 11,909 from Province 2, 18,247 from Bagmati Province, 8,973 from Gandaki Province, 1,518 from Karnali Province and 1,736 from Sudur Paschim Province.


The province-wise details of 8,497 returnees is yet to be verified.
