9,000 individuals to compete in second phase of section officer exam

KATHMANDU, Feb 27: The results of the preliminary stage examination of third level, section officer or similar positions has been published in the national gazette. The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced the results of the first stage of the examination conducted on February 10.

KATHMANDU, Feb 27: The results of the preliminary stage examination of third level, section officer or similar positions has been published in the national gazette. The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced the results of the first stage of the examination conducted on February 10.


Out of the 21,027 participants, 9,293 have been selected for the second stage while the answer sheets of 14 individuals have been canceled.

The selected candidates will be able to participate in the second round of the examination using the previous admit card. It is mentioned in the notice that the examination will be conducted at the examination centers designated by the PSC's Dhankuta, Jaleshwar, Kathmandu, Pokhara, Butwal, Surkhet and Dipayal offices.


About 89 percent of the candidates who filled the form participated in this exam. The PSC called such attendance of the examinees 'unprecedented'.


The PSC had advertised the recruitment of 273 section officers through an open and inclusive competition on December 13, 2023. 


Out of the 23,711 applicants for the section officer position, 21,027 participated in the preliminary stage examination.
