9th Global Alliance for Banking on Values meeting to be held in Nepal

KATHMANDU, Jan 30: NMB Bank -- a member of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV) -- is hosting the 9th GABV Annual Meeting in Nepal from March 7 to 9. 


The GABV is a network of banking leaders from around the world committed to advancing positive change in the banking sector. According to a statement issued by the bank, the alliance’s collective goal is to change the banking system so that it is more transparent, supports economic, social and environmental sustainability, and is composed of a diverse range of banking institutions serving the real economy.

“The meeting will open an opportunity to meet CEOs and Senior Executives from 40 Banks and financial institutions, who have embraced value based banking, operating in countries across Asia, Africa, Australia, Latin America, North America and Europe,” the statement added.


The 8th meeting of GABV was held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. 


“The theme of 2017 Annual Meeting in Nepal ‘Shifting the Financial Paradigm - Courage to Act Together’ captures in essence the work of the GABV and its members and partners aimed at changing the world of finances to put people before profit. The meeting will also focus on the self-reliant of local communities,” the statement added.
