KATHMANDU, April 27: Aam Janata Party and Samajwadi Jana Ekata Party have merged.


On Saturday, a merger was announced between the Aam Janata Party led by Prabhu Shah and Samajwadi Jana Ekata led by Narayan Shrestha.

Following the merger, the Aam Janata Party will continue to operate under the leadership of Prabhu Shah. It has been agreed to allocate responsibilities and roles among the leaders, including the coordinator of the Jana Ekata Party, Narayan Shrestha, with due respect.


Addressing the event, Shah expressed that his party decided to merge with a party that embraces progressive ideals and forward-thinking approaches. 


The development of our nation requires a departure from the status quo represented by the current major parties and their leadership," Shah said, adding, "Therefore, we are dedicated to forging a robust alliance by joining forces with a party having progressive ideologies."
