ACC Premier Cup: Nepal beats Oman, setting a couple of records

KATHMANDU, April 21: Nepal has beaten Oman in the second match of the ongoing ACC Premier Cup by 84 runs.


Chasing the target of 311 runs given by Nepal, Oman managed to score only 226 runs. After losing the ninth wicket in 46.3 overs, Oman's last batsman could not come to the crease due to injury and Nepal won the match.

Earlier, Nepal, which lost the toss and was asked to bat first, scored a record 310 runs with the help of Kushal Malla’s century and Sompal Kami’s half-century.


In today’s match, Nepal’s leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane was also able to set a world record for the fastest 100 wickets in one day international (ODI) cricket.


Lamichhane has achieved the feat of taking 100 wickets in just 42 matches. Earlier this record was held by Afghanistan's Rashid Khan who had taken 100 wickets in 44 matches.
