KATHMANDU, July 22: Amrita Koirala, the accounts officer of BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital, has been arrested on bribery charges.
A team from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) arrested her on Sunday afternoon with a bribe from Bala’s Restaurant at Katahar Chowk of Bharatpur Metropolitan City Ward No. 7.

The CIAA’s Hetauda Information Officer Govinda Prasad Gautam said Koirala was arrested with Rs 150,000 in cash and a cheque of Rs 450,000.
Koirala was arrested by the CIAA team when she was trying to collect the bribe money from a pharmaceutical company, he said.
It was found that Koirala took a bribe while making payments for the purchase of medicines at the hospital.
