KATHMANDU, Oct 3: Publication Nepalaya will be releasing an autobiography of former IGP Achyut Krishna Kharel, entitled ‘Achyut Krishna Kharel Atmakatha’ this Saturday. A press statement released by Nepalaya stated: the book provides insights into important episodes of the social and political relevance of the Panchayat era and the period after the restoration of democracy.
According to Kharel, he has written about political intervention in the promotion and posting of police officers. He also talks about the appraisal and reposting cultures within the force, and many other interesting incidents, including the infamous 33 kg gold smuggling case.
Former IGP Kharel’s autobiography released
“I did not write my story for self-glorification. My primary objective is to document my experiences to prevent misinterpretation of the events I witnessed unfolding. This will also facilitate the people’s right to information,” the press statement quoted Kharel as saying.
The book is being simultaneously released worldwide on POD (print on demand) through Amazon.
