KATHMANDU, July 27: Acting Prime Minister and Defense Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka has directed the officials concerned to prevent loss of people's property due to floods and landslides and to make arrangements to immediately clear the blocked highways.
Today, in a meeting held at the Ministry of Defense on issues such as disaster management, he instructed the officials to work on pre-disaster vigilance as a high priority.

In the discussion, the relevant officials informed the Acting Prime Minister Khadka about the floods and landslides in different parts of the country, the loss of property and the blocking of the highways.
On that occasion, Khadka directed them to give immediate priority to rescue and relief if any citizens were affected by floods and landslides. If there is any legal obstacle related to the distribution of relief to the victims, he has also instructed to remove it immediately and make arrangements to work on it.
He emphasized that the security agencies and government officials across the country should be alert and work in an integrated manner for the pre-estimation and management of disasters.
Today's meeting chaired by Acting Prime Minister and Defense Minister Khadka was attended by the Home Minister, the Chief Secretary, the Chief of Army Staff, the Defense Secretary, the Home Secretary, and the heads of security agencies and officials of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.
