Activists demand demarcation of Nepal-India border in Susta

KATHMANDU, Oct 27: Activists of the ‘Save Susta’ campaign have demanded government officials to mark the Nepal-India border and set up a junge pillar in Susta Rural Municipality-5. The activists put forth their demands in a meeting with Minister for Home Affairs (MoHA) Bal Krishna Khand.

KATHMANDU, Oct 27: Activists of the ‘Save Susta’ campaign have demanded government officials to mark the Nepal-India border and set up a junge pillar in Susta Rural Municipality-5. The activists put forth their demands in a meeting with Minister for Home Affairs (MoHA) Bal Krishna Khand. 


The activists of the campaign have also handed over a four-point letter of memorandum to Minister Khand. In the memorandum, the activists have demanded that the land, which the residents of Susta have been cultivating crops since 1965 to be surveyed and distributed among the local residents by providing them with land-ownership certificates.

The memorandum was handed over by lawmaker Dev Karan Kalwar and a team led by Bikram Khanal. They have demanded the government to take initiatives to demarcate the Nepal-India border, distribute land ownership certificates to local residents in Susta to collect revenue, and provide citizenship to local residents.


While receiving the memorandum, Minister Khand said that he was positive about the demands of the activists. He also urged them to send the memorandum to ministries concerned with the related issues. Home Minister Khand said that he was positive about settling the border issue, mobilizing the armed police force personnel, and saving the nation’s territory from encroachment.
