KATHMANDU, April 29: Actor CP Lohani passed away on Monday afternoon at the age of 86. He is known as the lead actor of the first privately-produced hit Nepali movie 'Maitighar’.
Suffering from Alzheimer as well as pneumonia, Lohani died in the course of treatment at the Maitighar-based Annapurna Neuro Hospital, said Lohani's nephew and journalist, Bikas Prasad Lohani.

He had served at the Ministry of Finance and Industry Ministry as well as worked as Director of the Biratnagar Jute Mills and Raghupati Jute Mills.
Lohani was also a renowned personality in the film and music sector. He was married to famed Bollywood actress Mala Sinha, who was his co-star in the movie 'Maitighar'. His final rites will be performed at Pashupati Aryaghat today itself, according to family sources.
