Adamant provincial law minister protests in front of NRB's branch office

JANAKPUR, Sept 2: The Minister for Internal Affairs and Law for Province 2, Gyanendra Kumar Yadav protested in front of Nepal Rastra Bank's Janakpur branch office after the state owned bank declined to abide by the provincial government's decision.

JANAKPUR, Sept 2: The Minister for Internal Affairs and Law for Province 2, Gyanendra Kumar Yadav protested in front of Nepal Rastra Bank's Janakpur branch office after the state owned bank declined to abide by the provincial government's decision.

Province 2 had announced a public holiday on the occasion of Krishna Janmaasthami. However, the bank was in operation. In turn, Yadav, along with his secretaries and bodyguards have organized a sit-in program in front of the bank's main gate. The minister said that he'd continue his protest until the bank's Manager agreed to abide with the provincial laws in the future and accept today was a public holiday.


The country's central bank had declined to abide by the provincial government's decision when it had announced a public holiday on Rakshya Bandhan. Then, Yadav had padlocked the bank's office and had returned. The police had immediately broken the lock after the minister had left. This time, the minister, himself has led the sit-in protest.
