JHAPA, Oct 11: The lifeless body of an adult elephant was found this morning in the Kamaldham wetland area, situated in Bhadrapur Municipality-2 within the Rampokhari Community Forest.
Anjana Giri, information officer of the Division Forest Office in Jhapa, reported that the deceased elephant was located in a half-submerged state within the swamp of the wetland. The distressing finding prompted the immediate response of the local community, who alerted the authorities upon discovering the animal's lifeless body.

In response to the report, a team from the local forest office was dispatched to the location. Furthermore, it was confirmed that a team of elephant experts is arriving from the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reservation Centre. Their expertise and investigations are crucial in determining whether the elephant succumbed to natural causes or if its death was the result of foul play. The true circumstances of the elephant's death will be unveiled only after their assessment.
