KATHMANDU, Oct 31: Newly elected chairperson of Bibeksheel Nepali Dal Milan Pandey has committed to upholding people's agenda in the changing context.

Talking to Shreeram Poudel in Nagarik Frontline on Wednesday, chair Pandey said that his party will not confine itself only within Maitighar Mandala while taking up the matters of public interests to the national level. "We'd rather go to government offices to facilitate the public service delivery easily and timely. Similarly, we are planning to reach out to common people in rural areas," Milan revealed.

Stating that public offices are haunted by middlemen, he expressed the hope that people would join their efforts in making government accountable and people-oriented.

On a different note, Pandey claimed his party would launch a probe into every politician and top government employees who were in power after the 1990 People's Movement if his party takes charge of the government.

He underscored the need for maintaining the rule of law in the country by making all the organs of the sate stronger without any partisan politicians.

"State mechanisms must be strong so that people would have faith in this system," he stressed.
