Agitation against province split proposal

BUTWAL, Dec 1: Different protest programmes were held at various places of Rupandehi district against constitution amendment bill registered in the parliament by the government, with changes to the province borders. 



Different organisations including the All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), close to CPN (UML), and Akhanda Nepal have called the shutdown here today. The normal life in the area has been affected due to the shutdown. 



As per the provision in the constitution amendment bill, the borders of Province No 5 have been changed. 



With the registration of the proposal in this regard, locals, various political parties among others are not happy, participants in the agitation said. 



All the educational institutions, factories, market and transport are closed since the morning today too as it was continued since yesterday. 



CPN (UML) leader and former lawmaker Netra Prasad Panthi has informed that his party and various other organizations will call various protest programmes from tomorrow morning in Butawal area adding that it was a matter of concern for all. 



Although the banda organisers are not forcing the closure, the businessmen and transport entrepreneurs among others are voluntarily supporting it, he said. RSS
