Agriculture Act will be introduced soon: Minister Bhusal

KATHMANDU, Jan 18: Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Dr Beduram Bhusal, has said that preparations are underway to bring the Agriculture Act soon to resolve the problems of the agriculture sector.

KATHMANDU, Jan 18: Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Dr Beduram Bhusal, has said that preparations are underway to bring the Agriculture Act soon to resolve the problems of the agriculture sector.


Minister Bhusal said so while addressing an agro-biodiversity and indigenous crop exhibition organized by the Second National Agriculture Biodiversity Day and Week Ceremony Committee here today.

Stating that the country should be made self-dependent by developing and expanding the agriculture sector for economic transformation, he emphasized on the need for increasing agroproduction and modernizing the sector through the use of technology.


The Agriculture Act will help for the same, mentioned Minister Bhusal, adding that different varieties of indigenous crops of the country should be preserved.


He expressed the view that agro-production should be increased by utilizing achievements gained in the sector of agriculture research and agriculture science.


Traditional wooden wares, food crops, fruits, seeds as well as other goods have been put on display at the expo.
