KATHMANDU, Oct 3: The Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla has resumed its operations for both airplane and helicopter flights. The airport's chief Umesh Kumar Panthi reported that there were a total of 158 flights and landings in a single day, following the resumption of regular flights from various destinations, including Kathmandu, Phaplu, and Ramechhap.

Among these flights, there were 32 flights departing from Tenzing Hillary Airport to Ramechhap, comprising 14 flights by Summit Air, 12 flights by Tara Airlines, and six flights by Sita Air. Additionally, Tara Air operated two flights to Phaplu, three flights by Sita Air to Kathmandu, and one flight by Summit Air.
Furthermore, 39 helicopter flights were recorded on Sunday, indicating a gradual increase in tourist traffic. Airport Chief Panthi expressed optimism about the improving weather conditions in Lukla and attributed the heightened flight activity to the start of the special tourist season.
