KATHMANDU, June 22: The Airline Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN) has withdrawn its decision to suspend domestic flights from Wednesday.
According to domestic airline companies, domestic flights will be regular from 11 AM today. Taking to Twitter, Yeti Airlines said all their flights, which were postponed indefinitely will be regular from Wednesday. Similarly, Buddha Air said that the flights will resume from 11 AM on Wednesday.
Health ministry urges NMA to withdraw their protest
The decision to withdraw protest comes after the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) warned of stringent action if the protest is not withdrawn. Representatives of CAAN and AOAN are scheduled to meet today at 12:00 noon today for further discussion regarding the five-point demands put forth by the airlines operators.
The AOAN on Tuesday had announced to suspend all domestic flights for an indefinite time until their five-point demands were met. Following the announcement, the CAAN had organized a press conference saying that the airline operators had to follow the direction as it was a need of the hour.
The CAAN on June 19, had unveiled a mandatory provision for the night-stop parking to 35 aircrafts including 17 helicopters outside Kathmandu Valley citing lack of sufficient space at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
