Airlines Operators Association of Nepal establishes 'special task force' to investigate air accidents

KATHMANDU, July 31: Following a series of air accidents in the past year, the Airlines Operators Association of Nepal has taken proactive measures by forming a 'Special Task Force.' Led by former tourism secretary Yagya Prasad Gautam, the four-member committee aims to analyze the incidents and present a comprehensive report within a month.

KATHMANDU, July 31: Following a series of air accidents in the past year, the Airlines Operators Association of Nepal has taken proactive measures by forming a 'Special Task Force.' Led by former tourism secretary Yagya Prasad Gautam, the four-member committee aims to analyze the incidents and present a comprehensive report within a month.


The primary objective of this committee, as stated by the association's general secretary, Manoj Karki, is to identify the root causes of the accidents and extend support to the government in enhancing aviation safety measures.

"While the government has set up an accident investigation commission, we have voluntarily created this task force to delve into the recent accidents," General Secretary Karki explained.


The task force comprises highly qualified individuals from various aviation backgrounds, including Heli Everest Captain Hira Babu Dahal, Yeti Airlines Safety Director Rabi Kansakar, Fishtel Air Engineer MK Shrestha, and former Safety Officer of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Narayan Dangol.
