KATHMANDU, March 22: The ruling Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist Leninist) has sought clarification from its four leaders including Madhav Kumar Nepal for carrying out activities against the party interests.
According to Ishwari Rijal, secretary at the UML's party office, the party has sought clarification from senior leader Nepal, Bhim Rawal, Surendra Pandey and Ghanshyam Bhusal in line with the decision taken by the party's recent central committee meeting.

"We dispatched letters to four leaders of the party today morning seeking clarification regarding a national gathering organized by the Madhav Nepal-led faction," Rijal said.
The UML central committee, which is dominated by the Oli-led faction, also concluded that the Madhav Nepal-led faction of the party harbored factional politics by forming parallel committees across the country. Rawal, however, has refused to submit clarification to the party saying that they (Madhav Kumar Nepal-led faction) are not obliged to follow Oli’s diktat.
With the Oli-led faction's decision seeking clarification from key leaders belonging to the Madhav Nepal-led faction, the intra-party rift within the CPN-UML has further deepened and it could even take the party toward a vertical split any time soon, analysts say.
