If the provision of 30 years of service in the police force is not changed, one of them will take over the command of the police force on March 26.
As he is first in line for promotion list, Kunwar is considered a strong contender for the post of IGP. Kunwar is considered a proficient police officer.
Tek Prasad Rai, who is at number 2 in the promotion list, is also considered as an honest officer with a good reputation. Having worked in the Special Bureau for a long time, he played an important role in controlling armed violence and organized crime. He is a competent police officer in his field of work.
Deepak Thapa is another strong contender, who is third in the promotion list. Although he is also considered a professional officer in the police force, he is still accused of not taking action against Renu Dahal when he was the SP in Chitwan and not taking action against the person involved in chewing the ballot papers.
Similarly, in the fourth number is Shyamalal Gyawali, who is also considered to be an excellent police officer. He has not yet been involved in any major controversy. Also, this time the government has an opportunity to make history with the appointment of IGP.
Kiran Bajracharya, who is in the fifth position in the promotion list, is one of the deserving persons for the post of IGP as it is the first time that a woman has the opportunity to become an IGP.
She is recognized as an able woman officer who has received excellent awards in the past. All the five police officers have good political access, so they are also lobbying in their own way.
